Feel free. An invitation to self-coaching

e-Essay by Thierry Limpens

Introduction

Controlling your feelings is what society expects of us. Everyone recognizes strong negative feelings such as fear, anger, suspicion, irritation, displeasure. And there are also the strong positive feelings. Such as enthusiasm, satisfaction, happiness, infatuation, security. But it is not always easy to deal with these strong feelings if we do not search for the right balance within ourselves every day. Finding the balance in all those strong feelings can be the work of self-coaching, which is a way of finding the strength within ourselves that guides us in making decisions about our lives.

That is what this essay is about. It wants to be an invitation to self-coaching with the aim of finding the balance between our world of feelings and that of freedom.

Psychology can help us in this search for balance. From a therapeutic point of view, a lot has been written about feelings. The field of study is also wide. However, this essay is not a therapeutic work. I advise people who, for one reason or another, have a bit of a psychological problem, to look for therapy or to get hold of the appropriate literature.

The essay simply tells about everyone's life. Also about yours. It wants to invite self-coaching. Through the pages you will also get to read a part of my personal life. I want to address you with it, offer a reading dialogue. Too many people artificially hide their feelings. That is why I invite everyone to believe in the power that we radiate for each other when we succeed in bringing or maintaining harmony in our emotional world.

For me, this understanding has been given a huge boost by my discovery at the age of 40 that some people are more sensitive than others. Based on the idea that there are really highly sensitive people for whom sensitivity provides added value in their lives and who thereby contribute to more humanity in the world, I recommend that we all shed a positive light on our sensitive side. This is a work that can be accomplished through self-coaching.

An important duo keyword for this essay could be harmony and life dreams. It pretty much sums up visionary power, which is a concept I like to link to self-coaching. Visionary power, as I usually describe it, is the inner drive that gives us a clear vision of where we want to go in life. It is the power that helps turn our dreams into reality. It makes us great, whoever we are. Visionary power means that we 'see' our future, that we believe in it so strongly that we deal with it in a convincing way from the here and now. This is not to say that visionary power saves us from adversity and challenges. We all have our pain points and that is why self-coaching is necessary. Self-coaching and visionary power go hand in hand. Because visionary power moves us forward with our deepest dreams. It is at the heart of the harmony in our lives. No matter how low we might fall, it is our visionary power that will lift us back up. Self-coaching can help keep in touch with our visionary power.

Everyone has enough to be proud of, enough strength to put us and others on the right track. Discovering this potential and building on it constructively for ourselves and others leads to visionary success.

Visionary power determines the success of our lives. Success is in the first place not doing great things, which evokes admiration by the environment, society. Even if it could be this. We all look up to powerhouses of success. It is good to learn from these people in order to be able to determine exactly what success means to ourselves. But visionary success is very personal and it is recommended that everyone strive for it by getting in touch with their own sensitive nature.

The visionary power we have is the splendor of our lives. It touches a deep core that we all have no matter who we are, what we can do, what we do.

So, why not discover or expand on this power? You can approach a coach (a supporter-supervisor) or a mentor (teacher-supervisor). You can also choose not to do it with a coach or mentor, but through self-coaching. You can coach yourself to do this, encourage you. Because is there someone who knows you better than yourself? Or you can combine the two: coaching and self-coaching.

This essay aims to provide a number of handles for self-coaching based on our emotional world, which at the same time sets us free and which is based on our visionary power. This is what connects the chapters. They draw our attention to the fact that we are all sensitive people who need the courage to live fully with our feelings, humanity among each other, mutual self-coaching, being able to enjoy life to the full, letting each other participate in our emotional world.
