6. In each other's most beautiful country
There is a country that is by far the most beautiful in the world. And there are my friends. Those are crazy. Not really crazy, but very sensitive and you can experience the best moments with them. These friends are special. They are the first citizens of that country. For it is the home of all people of sensitive nature. And my friends feel at home there! It's all of us at home.
We all have our most beautiful country. This is the land of our emotional world. Let's invite each other to this splendor of a country. What's more, let's give this invitation a central role in self-coaching.
That by far the most beautiful country, I think this is just 'home' for all of us. For some less, for others more. Of course, because not everyone is equally sensitive. We all have a different sense of it too. For some it is a hidden pearl island, an unprecedented treasure from which to draw. For others, the turbulent water in which sorrow and happiness lie in wait for each other. I personally experience it as the most beautiful garden in which I can come and rest in the sun. But after resting, I'll be on my way. I then see all the weeds that come up and that I want to weed. It takes work to make that beautiful garden of mine shine! But no matter how I feel, nothing beats this slice of paradise of mine. In between moments of deep sadness – for they are always there with our sensitive nature – it can bring me deep happiness, a happiness that I want to share with the whole world.
It can be beautiful. That garden, the world. It's a work of art.
Artists are beautiful people. They know how to make a tear and a smile look at each other, in the same color and shape, in the glow of a melody or on the waves of a rhyme and a word. Artists enchant the hearts of people with their sharp feelers.
Singers and painters fascinate me the most. That is up to me because I can take image and sound with me in flight. Yes, I too have a busy life. For example, I take too little time to sink into a book full of poetry. But the deeper reason lies in the full emotion. The sensitivity of art can take my heart so quickly to intense inner experiences that I have to deal with it soberly.
I think for a moment about a song I remember from a favorite singer from my childhood. I recently rediscovered the song and now enjoy day after day those two pieces of lyrics that make my heart beat faster : “It is never too late for new hopes and old dreams…” and “… youth comes with age”.
The singer sings melodically about the youth that comes with age. How wise it is if we never give up our youth and let it deepen with age in dreams of new emotion, of goodness, beauty and happiness. How wise it is if we believe that we can still fulfill all our wishes that were once planted as a seed in our hearts. Wisdom is a return to the most beautiful thing about our inner life. It makes us share with each other, with the people around us. Sharing is beautiful, is the art of living in that by far the most beautiful country in the world, the art of new hopes and old dreams, the art of seeing beyond, a visionary gift that we all possess. Making people, even if it is just one person, part of our emotional world, of our most beautiful country in the world, our 'home', gives us strength. It is a driver of self-coaching. Because our emotional world is too rich to keep it to ourselves. But inviting the other person to your rich emotional world and experiencing this as liberating does not always happen automatically. It requires self-coaching until we have sufficiently mastered this inviting attitude to life. It is a life's work, the work of art of our lives.
